Finding Balance in an opposing World
Two Doors To Balance
The world is full of polarity. We are really seeing this now.
Opposing thoughts, opposing opinions, opposing feelings…
Not just between each other, but within ourselves.
What gets forgotten is that balance can’t exist without two sides.
The challenge is that when our body chemistry is out of balance, we don’t think clearly...
We tend to react instead of respond.
We judge instead of connect.
This is where awareness of our breathing matters.
It is the fastest, most reliable way to restore balance to our body chemistry.
With balance within ourselves, we can think clearly, feel deeply, and meet differences with compassion instead of conflict.
I have been a "peacemaker" for as long as I can remember.
But at 33, I found myself out of balance… and it wasn’t pretty.
I was snapping at little things,
resisting new experiences, and
carrying anxiety that I couldn’t seem to shake.
For decades, I had been a self-development junkie, but nothing made a difference when it came to feeling balanced.
Breathwork did.
My body chemistry had been out of balance, and my life reflected it.
By bringing consistent awareness to my breathing, something changed.
I felt more at peace and more connected to myself and my family.
And I realized something important:
If breathwork could help me, it could help others too.
That was the first door… healing myself.
Then came the second… my calling.
At first, I thought guiding a few clients or leading groups might be enough.
But over time, I saw the bigger picture.
The world I want to live in is a well-regulated world where:
The heat of reactivity could be redirected,
Suppressed emotions can finally be processed in healthy ways,
Physical and mental wellness improve easier,
Families and relationships grow in harmony…
It will take more than my story.
It will take a community of facilitators carrying this work into their own families, practices, and communities. That’s why we train facilitators.
But it always begins with the individual.
Healing yourself is the first door.
Helping others is the second.
Both doors matter.

Featured Insight of the Week...
Finding Balance at Bedtime
Polarity shows up in everyday life, even with our kids.
At bedtime, they wanted to be wide awake and playful, while we wanted them calm and ready for bed. Two opposing needs, both valid, pulling in opposite directions. 🤪
Here is a simple example from our own family life:
There was a time when bedtime with our kids was exhausting.
They seemed to have endless energy at night, and I honestly remember thinking we might need to hire a babysitter just to get them to sleep.
One of the biggest lessons in Behavioral Breathwork is that awareness plus a small change can make a BIG difference.
Then we began looking at the patterns.
The lights were all on in the house, overstimulating them.
And our dinners consisting of pizza, pasta, or bread were turning into late-night sugar rushes.
So we made a few changes.
We dimmed the lights and shifted to more paleo-style meals in the evenings.
And introduced what we called the 6 B’s of bedtime…
Bathing, Brushing, Bathroom, Breathing, Books and Bedtime
The breathing part was simple: three big sighs, followed by a yawn.
Those sighs interrupted their hyperactive pattern.
The yawn opened the door to relaxation
Within minutes, they were rubbing their eyes, ready for a story, and ready for sleep.
The lesson?
Balance doesn’t come by eliminating one side.
It comes from awareness and a small shift that helps the system recalibrate.
It’s the same for all of us.
When we notice that our breathing reflects tension, stress, or feelings of imbalance, a simple intervention can shift us back toward homeostasis.
That’s the power of Behavioral Breathwork: small, intentional practices that bring balance when and where we need it most.

Facilitator Recap of the Week...
From Framework to Community
The last few months have been about trial and error.
We’ve tested, refined, and completed the full framework for our Behavioral Breathwork Facilitator Certification.
And now, the next step begins.
Production starts next week!
Soon the entire training will be available in an on-demand format, so you can learn at your own pace and revisit the material anytime you need.
But structure alone isn’t enough.
Just like with breathing, balance comes from both sides: learning the skills and practicing them in real life.
That’s why we created the Facilitator Studio...
A community of Behavioral Breathwork Facilitators designed as both a playground and a support system. It’s where facilitators can:
- Practice what they've learned in a safe, collaborative space.
- Ask questions as they arise and get guidance in real time.
- Explore how to grow not only as facilitators, but also personally and professionally in their business.
It’s more than membership… it’s a place to keep evolving.
And as our community grows, so does the ripple effect.
Every facilitator brings this work into their families, their clients, and their communities, creating balance where it’s needed most in this world!
That’s what excites us!
Because just like breath itself, this work isn’t static… it’s alive, adaptive, and meant to serve both the individual and the collective.
