A Nurse. A Client. Breathing That Changed Everything.
A Breathwork Mistake That Changed My Life
When I first discovered breathwork, it felt like I’d found a lifeline.
As a new mom running a business and juggling life’s chaos…
Stress was constant and often overwhelming.
Techniques like circular breathing (think Wim Hof or rebirthing)...
Gave me a way to cope.
I’d practice for hours each week.
It felt powerful. Even magical.
But here’s where my story takes a turn...
What started as a tool became an unconscious habit.
I was breathing in that intense, circular way all the time…
Even when I wasn’t trying!
Then came the brain fog.
The snapping at my kids.
The rising tension and overwhelm.
Instead of calming my system,
I was floating through life… disconnected and dysregulated.
I was emotional, and I didn’t know why.
That’s when we found Dr. Peter Litchfield.
His work in behavioral science helped us see the deeper truth.
My constant circular breathing had been quietly shifting my blood pH…
Creating subtle imbalances that showed up as brain fog, mood swings, and physical tension.
The very tool I leaned on to manage stress…
Had become a behavior that was keeping me stuck in it.
That wake-up call led to everything we now teach.
It’s why Shane and I created the Behavioral Breathwork Facilitator Training…
To go beyond “techniques” and offer a grounded,
Behavioral science-backed way
To understand and guide breathwork effectively.
If you’ve ever felt unsure about how to use breathwork
Without accidentally causing dysregulation…
Or how to support others through intense emotional experiences…
This course is for you.

A Nurse’s Breakthrough with Breathwork
This week, we’re spotlighting a powerful story from one of our recent Behavioral Breathwork Facilitators. In her words:
"Thank you so very much for this course, it’s put a whole new light on breath work as a yogi, as a nurse and an acupuncturist.
I have a client who had open heart surgery and several stents put in.
Western medicine was ready to put in a defibrillator and a pacemaker in him post open heart and stents. He came in (with his wife) for several acupuncture treatments and was coached on hydration and breath work. Three weeks later, he had color in his face, his energy had totally shifted. He did not need a defibrillator or a pacemaker, he realized he needed water and to breathe properly. Pretty basic, very simple.
As a cardiac step down nurse, it’s amazing to see that kind of a shift with acupuncture intervention, hydration and breath work.
I have another client that was hospitalized with a hypertensive crisis. Same thing, hydration, and breath work. She’s fine now.
I’m so excited to start providing breathwork workshops in my town and elsewhere.
In gratitude with so much appreciation
”
These aren’t miracle stories.
They’re the result of working with the body’s natural physiology.
Breath becomes a way in, not a tool to force change.
That’s what Behavioral Breathwork is all about: practical, science-informed tools that help people shift their state in real time.
If you’d like to guide this kind of change in your own community…
Doors are now open until Friday for the next cohort...
