Why does breathwork help some people and overwhelm others?

Most people discover breathwork because something in their life isn't working the way they'd like.

Stress. Sleep. Anxiety. The feeling of being stuck in a state they can't shift.

And breathwork helps. Until sometimes, it doesn't.

Some people find it grounding.
Some find it activating.
Some have a reaction that leaves them confused, or unwilling to try again.

The technique isn't always the variable.

What's happening underneath the breath is.

We help professionals and curious practitioners understand what's actually happening when people breathe, so they can guide themselves and their clients through the intensity of life and breathwork sessions without second-guessing which technique to reach for.

This free 60-minute session is an introduction to that framework.

We’re Shane and Angie Saunders

Our goal is to help you navigate the intensities of life, and support the people around you in doing the same.

Not just during a breathwork practice, but in real moments, when stress, emotion, or pressure comes up.

Over the past decade, we've refined this framework through research, teaching, and working directly with clients.

And what we've seen, again and again, is that when people learn to recognize their breathing behaviors and understand what those behaviors are doing in the body, something important shifts.

They stop reaching for techniques to fix it.

And as that connection strengthens, trust returns.
Trust in the body. Trust in the breath.
And, over time, trust in themselves.

Behavioral Breathwork is our way of passing that on to you, and to the people you care about, the ones you work with, and the ones you go home to.

If you're drawn to breathing as a way to navigate stress, emotion, and pressure, so you can understand what's happening and respond consciously...

You are invited to join us.

What This Session Covers

Most breathwork trainings teach techniques. This session teaches you what's actually happening when people breathe.

  • Why breathwork helps some people settle and leaves others feeling worse, and what's actually driving that difference

  • The key difference between breathing as a behavior and breathwork as a technique… and why this distinction changes how we work with people.

  • How jumping in with more technique can sometimes make things worse… and why pausing, observing, and adjusting timing can change the direction of a session.
  • An introductory way to use our core framework to make sense of what’s happening for someone in real time, so you’re not guessing or relying only on technique.
  • What to notice in your own breathing before, during, and after a session, and why that awareness changes the experience

At the end of the session, we’ll share the professional pathway for those who want to take this work further into client practice. If you’re joining for your own personal growth, you’ll get a clear sense of what additional training looks like.
