A Practical 60-Minute Introduction to Behavioral Breathwork

Join us for an experiential session where you’ll learn how behavioral science explains what’s happening when people breathe under stress.

You’ll get a clear introduction to the breathing patterns we see every day in clients, why breathwork feels transformational for some and overwhelming for others, and how a behavioral approach helps make sense of those differences.

You’ll also hear briefly about the Behavioral Breathwork Facilitator Certification,
for those who want to train professionally in this approach.

We’re Shane and Angie Saunders

We’ve spent the past decade helping individuals and professionals understand the link between breathing, behavior, stress, and overall wellbeing.

Through our work with thousands of clients (and our studies with Dr. Peter Litchfield), we began to notice a pattern: breathwork always creates an effect.

Some people settle into it quickly and love it.
Some get activated and confused.
Some feel overwhelmed and will never try it again.

The difference isn’t the technique.
It’s the behavioral patterns behind the breath that determine how someone responds.
Once you understand those patterns, you can finally see why the same practice feels so differently from person to person.

Our work is focused on helping people notice how their breathing reflects their state in real time, so they can support themselves or their clients more effectively.

In this introductory session, we’ll explore the patterns we see every day, why breathwork helps some people yet overwhelms others, and how awareness of breathing behaviors can shift the entire experience... in breathwork sessions and in everyday life.

What You’ll Learn in the Webinar

This session gives you a grounded introduction to Behavioral Breathwork and...

The real reasons people respond so differently to breathwork, even when the technique is the same.

  • Why breathwork feels transformational for some people, confusing for others, and overwhelming for a few… and the behavioral patterns that drive those responses.

  • The key difference between breathing as a behavior and breathwork as a technique… and why this distinction changes how you work with people.

  • An introductory way to use our core framework to make sense of what’s happening for someone in real time, so you’re not guessing or relying only on technique.
  • Why it helps to give clients space to notice what works for them before a breathwork session, and how that reduces confusion and “bad” experiences.

  • How jumping in with more technique can sometimes make things worse… and why pausing, observing, and adjusting timing can change the direction of a session.

This isn’t about learning new techniques.
It’s about understanding what’s happening underneath the surface when people breathe, so you can bring a more grounded, behavior-aware lens to your own sessions and client work.

At the end of the session, we’ll share the professional pathway for those who want to take this work further into client practice. If you’re joining for your own personal growth, you’ll get a clear sense of what additional training looks like.
